I am a certified organic farmer and I run a Detox Retreat on my farm in Eugene, Oregon. People come to detox by doing a juice fast or by eating a clean vegan diet. Detoxes receive massages, colon hydrotherapy sessions, guasha sessions, cranial/sacral therapy and daily coaching. I also do online or in person coaching for lifestyle changes.

I have been a plant based eater and cook for over 30 years. On our farm, we host people who want to change their lifestyle to include more plants. We also make our own herbal medicines for just about everything!

I’m an an ANCC board certified Family Nurse Practitioner who earned my Doctor of Nursing (DNP) degree from the University of Hawaii at Manoa and certification in nutrition from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. My clinical interests and specialties include primary care and lifestyle medicine, integrative nutrition and gut health, hormone therapy, and gender-affirming care. I provide patients with comprehensive care that is tailored to meet their individual needs.

I have combined my background in law and policy with my clinical skills and passion for healthcare to advocate for my patients while providing equitable care for underserved and marginalized communities. While completing my doctoral education, I conducted both local and national research and co-authored peer-reviewed publications. I have investigated dental hygiene programs in Hawaii, healthcare worker wellness in Hawaii, and the attitudes and intentions of healthcare providers across the U.S. toward vaccines during COVID-19.

I hold a Doctor of Medicine degree and have completed a residency in Emergency Medicine, which has equipped me with a solid foundation in managing complex clinical scenarios. My training has been complemented by a 12 months subspecialty fellowship in interventional pain management, where I have developed proficiency in a range of procedures including nerve blocks, epidural injections, Minimally invasive surgeries such as Spinal Cord Stimulator Implants Minimally Invasive Lumbar Decompression, and radiofrequency ablations. In addition, I have owned my own interventional practice for several years. I also practice a Whole Foods Plant Based No added Oil diet.

Throughout my career, I have been committed to delivering patient-centered care, ensuring that each treatment plan is tailored to meet the unique needs of the individual. I have committed my entire professional career, spanning 30+ years, to providing nutritional guidance for a multitude of individuals on their quest to disease management, prevention and wellness. Over the course of my career, I have had the privilege to work with individuals in clinical, wellness, and mental health settings. Many of these individuals were taking an exorbitant amount of medications to manage chronic conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure and heart disease. As a result of simple dietary changes to include wholesome plant foods, many were able to eliminate medications for these conditions. In fact, one individual lost over 100 pounds, which actually disqualified him from weight loss surgery.

My hope is that through engagement, and empowerment, I can assist individuals to incorporate principles of a whole food plant-based lifestyle to restore health and prevent the onset of chronic diet-related conditions.

Graduating from Department of Medicine, Kochi National University in 1984, I am a Japan Ministry of Health Registered Anesthesiologist since 1989 and received Diplomate of Board of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in 1990. I pioneered laser surgery and aesthetic dermatology in Japan. My major surgery is blepharoplasty with excellent aesthetic results.

After reading the CHINA STUDY in 2011 and joined Dr. John McDougall’s live-in program in the same year, I was completely shifted to plant-based whole foods diet. I started a plant-based whole food plus gluten-free restaurant named CHOICE, on the first floor of my clinic building, in 2013. We have clinics for nutrition both for children and adults. We utilize many techniques and devices, such as live cell analysis, Oligoscan, AGEs readers, CAVI, FMD, Capillaro, Metatron and so on to evaluate patient health non-invasively. Our vice president doctor, Dr. Izumi Nakamori is a board certificated pediatrician as well as a plastic surgeon. Our current mission is to spread the idea of PBWF diet to the entire population in our country. I established Plantrician JAPAN, a Japanese version of Plantrician Project, with Dr.Scott Stoll being a vice president of our society.

I am a primary care physician, retired USAF Colonel flight surgeon, agricultural advisor/consultant and author of both health and agricultural books. I am a vegan along with my wife Lisa Everett Andersen who is a clinical pharmacist and certified clinical nutritionist. I started my adult life in sustainable/biological agriculture and subsequently went to medical school and have always practiced integrative medicine.

Sandra has been a physician for over 25 years, now specializing in Food as Medicine, dedicated to preserving health and reversing lifestyle-related chronic disease through whole, plant-based nutrition. Sandy co-founded and runs the nonprofit Plant Docs as an avenue for adults to learn about the power of plant-based nutrition to improve health. Sandy studied Nutritional Sciences in college then earned her MD degree from the University of Massachusetts Medical School. Sandy worked in a primary care practice, taught residents at the medical school at Brown University, and started an Obesity Clinic. Though she has witnessed the healing power of conventional medicine, she has also seen its limitations, especially with regard to disease prevention through healthy nutrition. She obtained the following additional training: a Culinary Coaching certificate from Harvard’s CHEF Coaching program, a certificate in Plant Based Nutrition from eCornell, and a Health Coaching certificate from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition.
