Dr. Towolawi is a double board certified physician with over 15 years of clinical experience. She is a family medicine physician and lifestyle medicine physician with a passion to help people live healthier and longer lives by equipping them with knowledge to take charge of their health. She is a published author and speaker, leading workshops and webinars for children, teens, and adults. She is the founder and medical director of Nurture Well Center Direct Primary Care and SkinStatMD, where she has her own physician formulated and curated skincare + supplement line. Dr. Towolawi works with individuals, groups and organizations and has a passion for working with marginalized communities to empower them to advocate for their health using the six pillars of lifestyle medicine: plant-based nutrition, physical activity, stress management, restorative sleep, positive social connections, and reducing risky substances.

Angelia Dickinson is an Associate Licensed Counselor with the Alabama Board of Examiners in Counseling and is board certified in Lifestyle Medicine through the American College of Lifestyle Medicine. She is a Licensed Food for Life Instructor with the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine, holds the T. Colin Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies Plant-Based Nutrition Certificate, and is a dietetic student at the University of Alabama studying to become a Registered Dietitian. Angelia is also Blue Zones Certified and the 2025 inaugural John Bernard Award recipient for community impact through plant-based nutrition and lifestyle medicine. She works as a licensed therapist in private practice, where she brings together her mental health training and lifestyle medicine expertise to provide integrative, patient-centered care.

In her clinical work, Angelia uses a whole-person, holistic approach that blends evidence-based psychotherapy with evidence-based lifestyle medicine. She integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), play therapy, and EMDR-informed practices to help clients understand why they do what they do, explore patterns of behavior, and build practical skills for change. Angelia focuses on helping clients manage and cope with mental health conditions while also addressing sleep, stress, movement, nutrition, and other lifestyle factors as the foundation of care. By combining whole-food, plant-based nutrition and lifestyle medicine with trauma-informed, skill-based therapy, she supports clients in creating sustainable behavioral change, improving emotional and physical well-being, and moving toward a more hopeful, values-aligned life.

Lori Carnsew, MD is a Family Medicine physician and Direct Primary Care doctor who has been serving patients since 2000. Since opening Verity Primary Medicine in 2017, she now integrates the principles of lifestyle medicine into everyday practice, helping individuals prevent and reverse chronic disease through evidence-based, whole-food, plant-focused care. Dr. Carnsew’s office includes a dedicated teaching kitchen, where she guides patients in developing practical cooking and nutrition skills to support lasting health. She is also the author of a children’s book on lifestyle medicine, reflecting her commitment to empowering families with lifelong healthy habits.

My passion is people experiencing PRISTINE health! I am a native New Yorker, now a North Carolinian :) Raised on Long Island, a Harvard University graduate, with a background in schizophrenia research. I am a traditionally trained Medical Doctor obtaining my medical degree from Wake Forest University School of Medicine. I have been in the field of medicine for 20 years in the areas of primary care and mental health. I co-own a mental health practice with my husband, called The Neil Group, where we offer individual, family & group therapy as well as medication management – in office and via telehealth for all things mental health.

I have always been intrigued by our amazingly designed bodies. Over 10 years ago, I had an epiphany and I asked myself, “why am I eating animals?”. Then I researched the health benefits of not consuming animal flesh, and I stopped eating animals immediately and completely and haven’t turned back ;) I am an energetic and motivating physician, and my patients endearingly refer to me as “Dr. Joyful”. I understand clearly that the way our bodies are designed to operate is impeded by many of the lifestyle choices that are made. I became certified in plant-based nutrition from Cornell University because, while I thoroughly enjoyed medical school, there was minimal training in nutrition. Now, I am better able to help my patients see the benefits of a plant-powered way of eating. We offer Wellness at our practice in order to provide patients another way of addressing their general health and mental health concerns. We offer one-on-one wellness consultations, as well as groups to help hold people accountable to their goals. I’m a wife, mom, sister, best friend, author, nutritionist, geeky scientist, and outdoor enthusiast. My journey into wellness started with heartbreak, the sudden loss of my dad. It lit a fire in me to understand what really creates long-lasting health, and that search led me to embrace a whole new way of eating and living.

I dove headfirst into the science behind nutrition, earned multiple certifications in plant-based nutrition, culinary instruction, medicinal plants, and health coaching, and even when life threw me a cancer diagnosis, I kept going. That experience only deepened my passion and transformed my health in ways I never imagined.

​Now, I spend my days sharing everything I’ve learned with anyone ready to take back their health. I love being in the kitchen, teaching classes, coaching individuals, and geeking out over how food truly changes us at the cellular level. I’ve had the joy of working with many of the world’s top experts in nutrition and wellness, hosting them at my events, interviewing them, and learning alongside them.

Her own transformative journey — uncovering the root causes of unhealthy eating and embracing a plant-powered diet — fuels her passion for helping others create vibrant, lasting change.

With over 15 years of experience as a minister, coach, and healing practitioner, Nicole works with her clients remotely and blends evidence-based nutrition with compassionate coaching and mindset work to create lasting transformation. She empowers her clients to build confidence in their food choices, create sustainable habits, and live a healthier, more authentic life through the power of plant-based nutrition.

I’m an an ANCC board certified Family Nurse Practitioner who earned my Doctor of Nursing (DNP) degree from the University of Hawaii at Manoa and certification in nutrition from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. My clinical interests and specialties include primary care and lifestyle medicine, integrative nutrition and gut health, hormone therapy, and gender-affirming care. I provide patients with comprehensive care that is tailored to meet their individual needs.

I have combined my background in law and policy with my clinical skills and passion for healthcare to advocate for my patients while providing equitable care for underserved and marginalized communities. While completing my doctoral education, I conducted both local and national research and co-authored peer-reviewed publications. I have investigated dental hygiene programs in Hawaii, healthcare worker wellness in Hawaii, and the attitudes and intentions of healthcare providers across the U.S. toward vaccines during COVID-19.

I have been a Registered Dietitian for 30-plus years inspired by personal struggles of low self-esteem, disordered eating, and weight cycling with obesity. Since going plant-based about 10 years ago, I have been fascinated by the body’s perfect design to heal itself when given what it needs through nutritious whole plant foods, fun and challenging movement, quality sleep, stress management, and finding purpose.

I hold a master’s in health education, am a Board-Certified Lifestyle Medicine Professional, Life Coach, Wellness Coach, Personal Fitness Trainer, Aerobic and Pilates Instructor with a Certificate in Training for Adult Weight Management. My experience spans many areas of nutrition and health while specializing in weight/fat loss with muscle development, lifestyle management/reversal of chronic disease and diabetes, disordered eating, fitness training, and promoting self-compassion for optimal success. She has a passion for helping her patients prevent and reverse chronic disease and loves celebrating her patient’s success and motivating them through tough times. She believes that Food is Medicine and everyone is capable of improving their health with some professional guidance.

Beyond lifestyle medicine, she has expertise in comprehensive maternal and child health, reproductive justice, clinical procedures, medical education, provider wellbeing, and transgender health.Professionally she did her undergraduate studies and masters of public health at Tulane University. She studied medicine at Jefferson Medical College and completed her Family Medicine residency at University of Wisconsin, Madison. She is fellowship trained in global health and has worked in Latin America.

Her interests outside of medicine include spending time with her husband and two young kids, traveling and exploring new places, searching for and creating nutritious recipes, reading, and anything that will take her outdoors: triathlons, hiking, biking and camping.

Dr. Jeff Pierce is passionate about using a whole food, plant-based diet and other lifestyle medicine modalities to help people get healthier, get off of medications, and live longer, fuller lives. His goal is to meet his patients where they are, and work with them at their pace to improve their health, one day at a time. He is board certified in both Family Medicine and Lifestyle Medicine and is licensed to see patients in California, Florida, and Texas.
